Tweak that allows you to have the “Pull to Refresh” feature on default iPhone mail app

I just did up a tweak which allows you to have the “pull to refresh” feature (similar to that one on twitter, facebook, etc).

it’s a free tweak and you can get it from blackfacility repo or big boss repo (should be available within 24 hours)

Check out here for more details

If you find this tweak useful or have suggestions, feel free to send me also 🙂

Features you probably didn’t realised on you iPhone : Note Syncing

Did you realize that every time you create a new note, it seems to always access the internet even though you do not have any apps running in the background?

Note the network activity loading indicator on the statusbar.

Apparently, if you set up your email client (assume the mail server support IMAP), in my case gmail, it will automatically turn on syncing for notes.

So each time you modify your notes (or create/delete notes) in the default Notes app, it will save this changes to your mail server.

For example, if you are using gmail, the Notes app will create a Notes label and all the notes will be saved as entries having the Notes label. However, the process is one-directional, so you can’t modify the notes in your Gmail.

Of course, if you prefer not accessing the net and not syncing the notes, you can turn off this features in the Settings app under every email acount.

Bandwidth Meter feature

Posted this on blackfacility blog but I thought I will duplicate it here too.

Managed to do out a bandwidth meter feature which allows you to see the current data transfer speed. This feature should be available in data counter in future release. At the moment I’m still testing the battery usage and stability, and also fine tuning the UI.

Useful iPhone cydia apps/tweaks

Below is a list of useful cydia apps/tweets which I use.

This tweak automatically switch on/off your 3G network when you lock your device so conserve battery when you are not actually using it.

SMS app which is much better than the default one

Fast Copy

A tweak would will speed up the UI display of the copy “floating buttons”

This tweak allows you to delete cydia apps directly from the springboard like normal appstore apps.
Five Icon Dock

This tweaks creates a possibility of maximum 5 icons on the dock.

This allows you to view/run flash content on your Mobile Safari. Check out my previous post for more details how to get it

This shows a list of toggles where you can easily toggle the different preferences switches without running the Settings App. You can even do it while inside an app (for example, changing the brightness while you are inside an IM app to conserve power)

This make your iPhone into a VNC server so that you can remote access it through a VNC viewer.
