Releasing SMS Counter and Call Counter

Been really busy – which explains the delay in the email for the beta test.

Anyway, I decided to release SMS Counter and Call Counter. It should be up on bigboss repo once we settle the admin issues.

Progress on SMS Counter/Call Counter

After much procrastination, I’ve decided to go back and fix up some of the bugs / add the features requested by you guys. I hope I managed to fix the “number” bug that some are facing in this coming release.

If there’s anyone is kind enough to test out whether the new bug fix, really fix the numbering bug, please leave a comment/send me an email 🙂

What to expect:

• Numbering bug fix
• Keeping track of data even after the sms/call records are deleted (haven’t really found a efficient solution for this yet, but I’m working on it)
• Able to keep track of calls made during certain period and disregard other periods
• Counting SMS more than 160 chars as more than 1 SMS even though it is a single sms

Minor changes in this version. Mainly to attempt to fix up bugs:

• Added cycle option which allows the app to automatically set the from date to the day of the month when telco start counting sms quota
  (some thing, touch the icon which will now toggle 3 states)
• Attempt to fix (hopefully) some problem recognizing country codes resulting in not many names on the “Select Person” page
• Crashing problem (Would greatly appreciate if those having problems previously let me know whether this fix it)
• Fix problem with long names on the chart view

SMS Counter v1.1

Thanks once again for the many feedbacks.

I’ve managed to fix up as many of the bugs/additional features.

Here’s a list of the changes:

1. Percentage on Pie chart view are multiplied by 100
2. Sorting by name/number on the “Select Person” page
3. Attempt to fix (hopefully) some problem recognizing country codes resulting in not many names on the “Select Person” page
4. Attempt to fix problem with app crashing before it manage to open
5. Option to save the last period on exit or just to get the latest 1 month period
6. Dates will change according in the “Message Period” screen
7. Pie chart view responding “real time touches” (so you could actually place your finger on the chart and move to different segments)

For point 3 and 4, like I say, its just an attempt and I can’t be sure that it will be fixed cos I’m not really getting the problem to begin. The best way however is for the affected parties to send me their sms databases. (which isn’t really an option also since nobody would want somebody else to see their messages :p )

Edited: You can toggle the save state for From/To by pressing the icons beside From/To (The icons should change accordingly)

There’s a new updated version (v2.0)

Major changes in the new version(v2.0):

• Counting of messages based on 160 chars
• Able to keep track of deleted messages
• Simpler interface
• Saving of all the settings
• Badge showing the total outgoing SMS of the month
• Fixed bugs with name not showing on the person filter

Haven’t wrote anything since my last post. Been quite crazy over iphone app development. Did up a SMS Counter app for user to count their sms within a period. Good for those who need to keep track of their sms usage such that they don’t exceed their allocated SMS amount by their teleco.

Since it involved reading the default SMS database, it’s not a valid appstore app (*boo*)

Anyway I’m gonna try to submit to the major Cydia Repo. Here’s some of the screenshots:
